Favorite colors and a winner

My previous post was a giveaway for Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day. I asked for people's favorite color. Mainly to make reading the comments a bit more interesting for me, but also to find out what color would be mentioned most. Well, we have a very clear winner: BLUE (including teal, aqua, turquoise, cornflower blue, navy, robin egg blue, cobalt blue); 74 commenters named this their favorite color!

Green and purple came second with 26 mentions each; red 17; pink 15; orange 13; yellow and gray/grey had 7 each.

Of course there was another winner: Iris who lives in Germany won the giveaway prize! Her favorite color was orange by the way. Here is a link to her Flickr photostream. Congratulations Iris, the package will be on its way to you very soon!

 

 

In the meantime I have been quilting away on my Penny Sampler. Above is an Instagram snapshot of the quilting on part of the quilt. Yesterday the last quilting stitches were made. Today I'll make the binding and then I will be able to show the finished quilt very soon!

Thank you to all 72 commenters for taking the chance to win! I had a lot of fun reading about all your different inspirations for sewing. And thanks to Sew Mama Sew for organizing the Giveaway Day event!

I'll show you some of my own recently finished sewing: the blocks I made for his quarter of the 4x5 Bee. I followed this tutorial but enlarged everything so I ended up with 12" finished size blocks. If you want to do this and you can't figure out the measurements, contact me (through the comments) and I'll tell you what I did.

This is the block I made for myself. This quarter my colors are all shades of purple with all shades of gray.

Today I am giving away a few goodies to inspire you to decorate your world; inspiration starts with little sparks, and I hope these are just the things for you!

This is what you can win: a Pip Studio note book, a piece of cute ribbon, and a set of iron-on appliqués from the famous Dutch department store Hema. I will also add a bag of fabric triangles (cut-offs for me, inspiration for you; this includes some designer fabric and Japanese fabric but in very small pieces), and a larger piece of cute Dutch fabric.

Here it is again, Giveaway Day!

I always play a bit of music for my visitors first, so here goes... This is a video by a very popular Dutch (yes, you have landed on a blog that is based in The Netherlands) singer VanVelzen. It's a Love Song, short and sweet. Have a listen!

 

Now for the Giveway Prize! This time I'm giving away a handmade (by me) Holiday Ornament and some sweet buttons, that I will pick for you from my stash, and cute ribbon decorated with windmills (a touch of Dutch)! I'll ship internationally!
