No, I didn't finish what I planned in July. I didn't make that mini quilt. I did finish another quilt though, and a free quilt block tutorial, so I still feel accomplished. I had five days after the sailing trip that we took to finish up stuff, but unfortunately I caught a cold (during the heat wave we were having!) so I wasn't able to use my time as I had planned. Never mind...
For August I don´t want to plan any big finishes. We have some more vacation plans, and the other days kids are at home and temperatures in my studio are high.
I want to accomplish one thing and work on two others:
* I want to finish making fabric packs for Bee Europa so I can send them out at the beginning of September which will be my month in the bee. I already have a plan and some fabric on the way (and lots in my stash)
* I want to work on tidying up the messy desk in my studio. I have one tidy desk which has my sewing machine on it, but the other desk is a big mess. I want to clear that desk, and find better places for the stuff that is on there right now.
This is the (relatively) tidy desk; when I sew I have my back towards the mess...
* The other thing I'll be working on is the Penny Sampler. This is an online quilting class with Rachel Hauser of Stitched in Color. Over the course of three months we'll be making a wonderful Scandinavia-inspired quilt while learning some new techniques. My aim is to get more comfortable with applique, and to make the lovely quilt of course! In August I will work on determining which fabrics to use for this project.
