Last week I found some new fun in blogland. It is the Medallion Quilt Along by Bloomin' Workshop; and actually it is not so new, they started two years ago and finished one year ago. But I hadn't encountered it before, and all the instructions are still up, so I thought why not start this now... I love how this quilt grows from the middle and seems so unplanned and patchy. All in a good Pippi Longstocking way! It's perfect to record a whole year of color and fabric preferences.
So I started. With this block to be the center of the medallion. It will be summer soon (and some days it already is), so I thought I'd start with happy sunny colors. I can always tone it down later...
This a Dandy block made following this Modify Tradition tutorial
Now I'm working on border number 1.
This is the Flickr group for the Quilt Along, look at all the wonderful growing quilts! I'll add my photos there soon.
Maybe, there is someone else that wants to start this as well? That should be fun! Let me know, so we can share our experiences, and show and tell about our progress.
