My quilting resolution for this year is to finish these projects. They include things that I have finished piecing and need to quilt, two are blocks that are made for me by fellow bee members and that I want to make into quilts, and a couple are in progress projects that I really want to finish.
If all works out as I see it now, I will have 7 quilts and 2 mini quilts at the end of it. Cool!!
I need to post a list of projects I need or want to finish before Christmas. And also a list of projects that are floating in my mind, in various stages of finished-ness and concrete-ness. So, just to clear my head a bit:
Before X-mas
* three more swap ornaments (for a swap organized by Arawa)
* star mug rug, pattern from Fat Quarterly Holiday edition
* 3x6Bee 4th quarter blocks (3 done, 3 to go)
* Bee Europa November block (fabric received)
* Sew Buzzy November block (fabric not yet received)

Next year
* finish my pickle dish quilt along mini quilt (if I have time it'll move to the list above)
* make the next border of my medallion quilt (will also move up if possible)
* finish my Bee Europa quilt
* finish my Sew Buzzy quilt
* finish my Friendship Star quilt
* finish my spiderweb mini quilt
* make a quilt I saw in Material Obsession 2
* use the Quilt As You Go method to prepare the blocks I received in the 3x6Bee before sewing them together
* Figure out what I want to do with my Etsy shop. I have such a hard time accessing the Etsy website, it's extremely frustrating! So I might end up getting a shop on a different kind of platform.
* Do something (...?) with a fabric jelly roll I got a while back
* Same as above with two fabric layer cakes
* Make some mug rugs, to practice some techniques and get with the mug rug trend (look here if you haven't heard of mug rugs yet)
* Order Anna Maria Horner Innocent Crush velveteen fabric for a skirt (I might move that one up; ordering is easy!!)
* Ever finish 2 UFO knitting projects
My medallion quilt is still growing! On Monday I'll be attaching the next border (#5) that I have been making last week.
This is such a great project! I love working on this! The quilt (so far) hangs above my work table, so I'm always thinking about what colors and fabric the next border should have, and the next, etc...

Another fun project to join (sign up before Sept 30) is the Trim The Tree Handmade Ornament Swap, here on Flickr. You make three holiday/christmas/winter ornaments, one for each of three secret partners, and you receive three ornaments as well!! I joined!!!
Outside my creative space it's raining like I don't know what (a lot!), so the photos might be a bit dark today. I'm staying inside today, and I'm playing with fabric...

Today I'm working on another border of the medallion quilt along, number 3b, zigzags. For this I need to make 64 so-called flying geese units, rectangles of one color with two triangles of another color. There is a lot of chain-sewing involved...
The blue fabrics will be the background, the pink fabrics will be the zigzags!

I'm planning the next border around my Medallion Quilt (from the Quilt-Along). I'm debating whether I should just add the next border the way the instructions suggest (look at the sides of the medallionto see how this would look) or if I should add a lime green Hope Valley rim around what I have sewn together up to now (the top of the photo shows how that would look). I think I'll go with the extra rim because it seems to pull the color scheme together a bit better.
The fabric on the left of the photo is something I made in a fabric design class using potatoes and wine corks.
My medallion quilt, that I am making following this Medallion Quilt Along, has grown (remember how I started?). I've added border 1. It wasn't easy, but with a bit of fussing and chopping (oops) I managed to line up the corners.
Now I'm working on border 2. I'm taking a bit more care with my seam allowances. I hope it will make it easier to line everything up. Otherwise, it adds to the character of the quilt, right...?
Last week I found some new fun in blogland. It is the Medallion Quilt Along by Bloomin' Workshop; and actually it is not so new, they started two years ago and finished one year ago. But I hadn't encountered it before, and all the instructions are still up, so I thought why not start this now... I love how this quilt grows from the middle and seems so unplanned and patchy. All in a good Pippi Longstocking way! It's perfect to record a whole year of color and fabric preferences.
So I started. With this block to be the center of the medallion. It will be summer soon (and some days it already is), so I thought I'd start with happy sunny colors. I can always tone it down later...
