So many comments! 300!!! Thank you all so much for the overwhelming reaction to my give-away!
There is only one winner though, and it is... Andrea! Congratulations! The ribbon and tea wallet will be flying your way soon! I hope you'll have fun with your prizes.
I entered some give-aways too, and I'm a winner as well!! Yippee, I won Elizabeth's felt kitties! Thank you so much! Elizabeth told me she will be posting a tutorial to make your own kitties soon! I'll post a link as soon as it is up. Update: Here is the link!
And some more happiness: I was playing with photos of the friendship star blocks (in the Block Party quilt-along) I have made so far. Nice to sneak a peek at what the finished quilt could look like...
I will talk about the prize later, but first I'd like to give something to everybody. A little video of Dutch comedian Hans Teeuwen. After having reached the top here in the Netherlands with his unusual sense of humor he quit performing and went to London to start all over again. This video is a small part of his show in English. Afterwards you can click on related videos for more Hans Teeuwen. Okay, watch this video for some fun (the video is appropriate for all ages and backgrounds, except maybe for Mozart-puritans...)!
Now for the prize of today's give-away: You can win a tea wallet that I have made and two meters ofcute ribbon. The tea wallet started out as a No Cash Wallet from Amy Karol's Bend-the-Rules Sewing book but I had to bend the rules even more after it turned out that the wallet was too small for regular credit cards. I changed it into a tea bag carrier and I have included some tea bags for the lucky winner as well. Can you see the teapot button?
What do you need to do to win? Well, leave a comment on this post before Monday morning (in Western Europe) December 7th! At that time I will pick a winner. Make sure you leave a way for me to contact you. The Give-Away is international!
If you are still looking for cute presents for Christmas, please take a look in my Etsy shop. I have some sweet ceramic birds, all kinds of fabric zipper pouches, some Dutch themed baby bibs and more in my shop. Thanks for looking!!!
Go to Sew Mama Sew for more Give-Away fun. Good luck to everyone!!!

It is time to announce the winner of my 100 Post Give-Away...
And the Friendship Bag goes to... Mare (Mariana) from Chile! Congratulations!
Thank you to everyone who commented and said such nice things about the bag and my blog! I love to receive comments. That is why I think there shouldn't be any losers in this Give-Away. Here is a coupon:

As a runner-up prize everyone that entered my 100 Post Give-Away will get a discount of 30% in my Etsy shop. You can use this discount once, but it can be applied to multiple items. The discount will be taken of the total amount including shipping and will be returned after you have paid, via Paypal. The offer stands until January 1, 2010. Please remind me in the Message to Seller that you were a commenter.
I am working on a patchwork tote bag. The pattern is heavily based on the beach bag in the most recent issue of Sew Hip magazine. I am making it slightly smaller (it's still quite big), because I believe that if your bag is smaller, you will take less stuff with you and your back and shoulders won't hurt as much. Maybe that philosophy doesn't always work. At least I try...
Anyway, the fabric is Mendocino by Heather Ross. Perfect for a beach bag! But the bag will start out as a shopping bag because our beach season just ended. That doesn't mean we will not go to the beach any more. We will just not be bringing towels and bathing suits, but will be dressed in boots and raincoats. I can't wait for a nice stormy day, when we'll first have a walk on the beach (we always go to Noordwijk) and then have a warm drink in a café on the boulevard. Every season has it's pleasures!
If you want, you can visit my give-away. There is still some time to enter. You can win a patchwork Friendship Bag. It is quite a bit smaller than this beach/shopping bag, but it is filled with goodies!
This is the 100th post on my blog! It took me more than one and a half year but I got there. And that means it is time to celebrate! With music and with me giving away something to one of you.
First some music (from the days when shaving your arm pits was not necessary before a tv appearance), this is Nena, my teenage idol (with a great skirt on!) (Sorry, the video is quite blurry):
And now for the Give-Away!
This is what you can win: A Friendship Bag (an extra I made for the swap) filled with goodies. The goodies include fabric and Stroopwafels (Dutch cookies; the song was German but I am actually from the Netherlands), and some surprises.
This is what you need to do to enter the Give-Away: Leave a comment on this post. The Give-Away is open to anyone, from all countries. I will leave comments open for a week. Then, on Monday 31st of August in the morning, I will draw the winner from all commenters.
Good luck everyone!!
I should add that I made the bags following this tutorial!
**commenting is now closed; the winner will be announced soon**
This week I'm playing along with Kootoyoo for the first time. I'll show you my creative space.
I'm making zipper pouches with the goodies I got from Ravenhill when I won her Give-Away. She sent me such an inspiring package! Thank you again, Emily!
I love to make things. Because I want to have them, or just for the fun of making. Things in this last category usually end up in my Etsy shop. I made this bag a while ago. It is made from a pattern in a book (it is the Hobo bag from Sew Everything Workshop). That's why I didn't think I could put it in my Etsy shop; it is not my original creation. But I also don't need another bag (for now). So... I'm giving it away to you.
I did add a little original detail: the fabric rosette. I have more of these rosettes in my shop, but this one you get for free with the bag.
Would you like to receive this bag and the rosette? The only thing you need to do is leave a comment on this post before Monday morning July 6 (Western European time). I'll close the comments by that time and pick the winner. The give-away is international.
In a month or so I'll have another give-away, so stay tuned...
***Comments are closed. The winner will be contacted and announced soon.***
Here is a chance to lay your hands on some FREE ribbon. Like the ribbon I gave away on Give-Away Day!
I am participating in the YART SALE sponsored by Team ESST, that takes place on Etsy from June 10 until June 14. Yard sale + Art = YART SALE!!!
This means that from now until the end of June 14 WITH EVERY ITEM that you buy from my Etsy shop you will receive a FREE special gift of TWO half meters of decorative ribbon that you can use for sewing, scrapbooking, or just plain adoring.
So, here's what is for sale...
And here is another peak at the stash I will be cutting from to create your gift.
Wow! So many visitors! So many comments! Thanks everybody that took an interest in my Give-Away!
And thank you to everyone that visited my shop and said what they like or would buy. I will ponder the results from that little research question a bit more and then add new items to my shop as I draw conclusions. I will obviously keep you posted right here!!
Before I announce the winners, did you see I added a fish pond to my side bar where you can feed the fishies. Have some fun with that. They follow your cursor too.
They have both been contacted, so if you have the same name, but did not receive my message, I'm sorry. I'm sure there will be a next time, because I had a lot of fun with Give-Away Day! Thanks Sew Mama Sew for organizing it!!!
***comments are closed now***winners will be announced tomorrow, I'm off to sleep***
Hey, hey, it's Give-Away Day!
Welcome, everyone who came here through Sew Mama Sew! And welcome everyone who visits here regularly and came again today!
On this special day I will be giving away...
two prizes: each winner will receive * a fabric heart ornament handmade by me! * a Chinese 'button' bought in China by myself * three half meters of ribbon: turquoise flowers on white, blue Dutch windmills, and Little Red Riding Hood with the Wolf
To have a chance at one of the prizes I would like to ask you one thing: Please visit my Etsy shop and determine which item you would be most likely to buy if you were to buy something from my shop. Then leave a comment on this post to tell me what it is. Thanks for helping with this little marketing research!
This Give-Away will be open until midnight (Western European time, because I am in Leiden, the Netherlands) on Sunday May 31. I will let a random number generator pick the winners from the comments on this post. Make sure that you enter your email address in the appropriate field with your comment. It will not be published, and I will only use it if you are a winner.
Good luck everybody! Visit my shop here or at one of the links above or in the sidebar. Thank you!
