If you would like to win this prize, please leave a comment on this post before May 25 at 5 p.m. PST (which is midnight on Friday here in The Netherlands, I believe). If you want you can tell me where you will be spending your summer vacation, or what you are planning for the summer when you'll hopefully have some free time.

Here is the big announcement of the winner of my giveaway prize: Jojoebi won! 

Thank you to all 72 commenters for taking the chance to win! I had a lot of fun reading about all your different inspirations for sewing. And thanks to Sew Mama Sew for organizing the Giveaway Day event!

I'll show you some of my own recently finished sewing: the blocks I made for his quarter of the 4x5 Bee. I followed this tutorial but enlarged everything so I ended up with 12" finished size blocks. If you want to do this and you can't figure out the measurements, contact me (through the comments) and I'll tell you what I did.

This is the block I made for myself. This quarter my colors are all shades of purple with all shades of gray.

Today is Giveaway Day again! See more giveaway posts on the Sew Mama Sew blog. If you came here through Sew Mama Sew: Hi! You're very welcome here on Hopfaldera. Maybe you'd like take a look around at my other posts if you have time. My name is Muriël and I live in The Netherlands. I love quilting, sewing and making ceramics. Today I am giving away a few goodies to inspire you to decorate your world; inspiration starts with little sparks, and I hope these are just the things for you!

This is what you can win: a Pip Studio note book, a piece of cute ribbon, and a set of iron-on appliqués from the famous Dutch department store Hema. I will also add a bag of fabric triangles (cut-offs for me, inspiration for you; this includes some designer fabric and Japanese fabric but in very small pieces), and a larger piece of cute Dutch fabric.

You could also tell me what you would write in the note book if you won, or what you would use the ribbon and appliqués for. Here it is again, Giveaway Day!

I always play a bit of music for my visitors first, so here goes... This is a video by a very popular Dutch (yes, you have landed on a blog that is based in The Netherlands) singer VanVelzen. It's a Love Song, short and sweet. Have a listen!

 

Now for the Giveway Prize! This time I'm giving away a handmade (by me) Holiday Ornament and some sweet buttons, that I will pick for you from my stash, and cute ribbon decorated with windmills (a touch of Dutch)! I'll ship internationally!

Give-Away Day

It is that day again... Give-Away Day!

I will talk about the prize later, but first I'd like to give something to everybody. A little video of Dutch comedian Hans Teeuwen. After having reached the top here in the Netherlands with his unusual sense of humor he quit performing and went to London to start all over again. This video is a small part of his show in English. Afterwards you can click on related videos for more Hans Teeuwen. Okay, watch this video for some fun (the video is appropriate for all ages and backgrounds, except maybe for Mozart-puritans...)!

Now for the prize of today's give-away: You can win a tea wallet that I have made and two meters of cute ribbon. The tea wallet started out as a No Cash Wallet from Amy Karol's Bend-the-Rules Sewing book but I had to bend the rules even more after it turned out that the wallet was too small for regular credit cards. I changed it into a tea bag carrier and I have included some tea bags for the lucky winner as well. Can you see the teapot button?
