Quilting is a dangerous hobby

Yesterday I made 3 + and X blocks.

 

And this morning I had just made a plan for three more...

 

I had ironed the fabric and had just started cutting, when the roll cutter attacked me (it slip out of my hand) and... Do you know Dexter? ... Okay, it wasn't that bad, but it was quite bloody. An emergency visit to the doctor was definitely in order! She gave me a big bandage, and now I have to take a break from quilting for a week. Also from "the wet household" as she called it, haha.

 

I think I can use some online retail therapy. I saw the new Loulouthi fabric by Anna Maria Horner is for sale at Hawthorne Threads. Quilting is a dangerous hobby, also for your wallet!

I found a great pattern for a quilt. I saw it popping up everywhere on Flickr and then found the pattern here on Bad Skirt Amy's blog.

I want my version to have the same Asian, scrappy look as the original by Setsuko Inagawa, so I have been selecting and buying fabric for it. This is what I bought in China.

 

And I think the fabric I bought in London, in the fall, will be great in this quilt too!

 

I'm also planning to add some red prints from the Sherbet Pips fabric I have, and some cute fussy cuts, and my new Denyse Schmidt fabric that arrived while I was away. And I guess I will need some fabric with words on it if I really want that Japanese look... I don't have any of that... Maybe I can make some myself?
